Today we’d like to introduce you to Miki Watts.
Miki, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Michelle Watts, otherwise known as Miki, and I am the CEO and Nurse Practitioner at Galaxy Health Family Practice, LLC.
I am a Columbus native; born and raised on the Westside and I currently reside in Grove City. I grew up on the Hilltop and am a proud graduate of West High School, class of 1996. After high school, I obtained a Bachelor’s of Science, in Nursing, from The Ohio State University and a Master’s of Science, in Nursing, from the University of Cincinnati.
I began my career in nursing as a Patient Care Technician at Doctors Hospital West in Columbus, in 1998. My experience working as an ER Technician and ER Nurse, followed by time as a Poison Control Specialist, has provided me the foundation on which I now base my role as an advanced practice provider. My certification is as a Family Nurse Practitioner, with more than 8 years experience treating the citizens of Columbus. I also have certification in addiction medicine and experience in chronic pain management.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. Our first year was incredibly challenging with ensuring credentialing with insurers was complete, meeting patient needs and expectations, and finding new and innovative ways to meet the growing needs of the community.

Galaxy Health Family Practice opened December 1st, 2021 at 421 Georgesville Road, between Sullivant Avenue and Hollywood Casino. Founded by nurse practitioner and CEO Miki Watts, a proud 1996 graduate of West High School, Galaxy Health exists to serve the Hilltop and surrounding communities.
At Galaxy Health, we pride ourselves on being a full-service family practice ready to serve your healthcare needs. We have two on-site labs for toxicology and blood work. Lab work is done the same day with little to no wait – no need to schedule an additional appointment. With Miki’s 10+ year background in addiction and pain management, we also offer outpatient addiction treatment.
We use a powerful full-body test called ANS which measures how well the brain communicates to other parts of the body such as heart, lungs, kidneys, stomach, and liver, and can help in the diagnosis of chronic diseases related to the heart; blood pressure, blood flow, chronic pain, and other physical and mental stresses.
