

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Murray.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, and owner of The Intuitive Eating Center of Northeast Ohio. I completed my undergraduate degree in Exercise Science at Cleveland State University and master’s degree in Nutrition at University of Akron. I talked my career working in the hospital setting specializing in oncology and surgery nutrition and was an adjunct nutrition instructor at Cleveland State University. I opened The Intuitive Eating Center in 2018 to bring weight-inclusive and non-diet eating disorder/disordered eating care to Northeast Ohio. Our priority is to create a safe, welcoming space for individuals of all sizes, ages, races, gender identities, and abilities to support healing. I currently sit on The State Medical Board of Ohio Dietetics Advisory Council.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are always challenges! Some big and some small. The transition to a virtual practice during the pandemic and meeting the demand of increased need for eating disorder care during the pandemic was certainly a challenge. I grateful to have a fantastic team of clinicians and wonderful clients who are flexible and patient during these transitions.
