Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Giovanni Huff.
Hi Nikki, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
In 2005, I obtained my second of six degrees, an Associates’s degree from Stautzenberger College in Business and Entrepreneurial Management. I thought it was an excellent program, plus I liked the word “Entrepreneurial.”
Don’t judge me; I was in my early twenties (smiles). 2006, I helped resolve some financial and tax dilemmas, rebuilt a gaming system, and made handmade bracelets for a few friends. 2007, a few friends turned into more than twenty loyal clients from word of mouth, the client numbers continued to increase, and pro services expanded. That is when NES, LLC, was established.
Nik’s Entrepreneurial Service, LLC (NES, LLC) provides various professional and e-commerce services, from financial planning to software support.
NES, LLC is the parent brand of NES Naturals and Nik’s Vintage Boutique (NVB).
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Obstacles and challenges worth noting are staying relevant over the years, focusing on expanding products and services with innovation and creativity.
Operating continuously in an online environment is probably the real struggle, as there are so many successful online businesses; you need to stand out and be unique. In attempts to stay on top of things, I am known as “The Jill of ALL Trades,” as I try to provide products and services for everyone.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
By day I am Nikki Giovanni Huff (Barnett), the Vice President of Finance and Administration at A Pass Educational Group, LLC. I started as a contractor, connected through my small business. A Pass specializes in content development.
I focus on NES, LLC’s business, products, and services by night. Sometimes, I create and add new custom jewelry and accessories to my e-shops, work on a wine cork project, draft a cover design for a notebook, make a new natural product (CPhT), take notes for a new pub, or build a website to serve as a sample – the sky’s the limit.
I am an innovative adaptive entrepreneur, business owner, leader, educator, and lifelong learner enthusiastic about business acumen. I have extensive expertise in lean management, HR, administration, negotiations, e-Commerce, leadership, organizational development, and quality performance improvement.
I would say I am most proud of my namesake, which is probably what sets me apart from others; being named after Nikki Giovanni set the bar high. I have always been self-motivated, but I’ve always wanted to make my parents proud first and foremost.
So maybe we end by discussing what matters most to you and why?
Happiness, my family, and being proud of myself, “NikDBA,” matter most.
I lost my only sibling when I was seventeen and what I’ve learned is to take nothing for granted, cherish every moment, stay humble and keep your head high and stand tall even when someone tries to push you down – have faith and pray. Knowing the difference between arrogance and confidence helps a great deal.
