Today we’d like to introduce you to Corey Kissel.
Hi Corey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I developed a passion from health and fitness at a very young age around the time I was becoming a teenager. I quickly realized after beginning athletics that I enjoyed training in and out of the weight room for the sports I was playing more than the actual sports themselves. My passion for getting stronger, building muscle, and seeing what I was physically capable of continued to grow, so I pursued professional degrees and graduated from the University of Findlay with my Bachelor of Science in Strength and Conditioning and Associate of Arts in Personal Training. I decided that I wanted to help others in any way that I can improve their health and fitness by designing personalized training programs that would help them work toward reaching their goals because of how much impact it had on my life personally.
After working as a trainer for a few years, we were blessed with the opportunity to acquire ownership over the gym I was training in which we are so thankful for. We’ve been doing everything we can since then to create an unparalleled personalized training experience that helps you leave the gym feeling better than when you came in. We want everyone to enjoy the training experience and aim to be the Best Hour of Your Day.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Business Ownership comes with it’s fair share of challenges. Although I was very versed as a technician working with clients on the training floor, there was a lot to learn about running a successful business along the way that I felt we could do better. This lead to us working with Two-Brain Business, the world’s leading Gym Mentorship company, and I can’t speak highly enough about how positively working with a personal business mentor on a proven plan has helped us improve the delivery of our services and improved the way we do business since we began working with them four years ago. Like anything in life, if you want to improve in a particular area, you have to focus your time, money, and energy on it. I can say with confidence we are so glad we decided to work with the best in the industry so we can provide nothing less than that for our clients and members.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about P3 Training?
What sets us apart at P3 Training is the level of Personalization that we center our business around. The P3 actually stands for Personalized Physical Preparation.
The three areas that we specialize in particular are the following:
We design Pain-Free Performance Training Programs so that you can Live Long and Live Strong by allowing individuals to maximize their physical abilities across the six Fundamental Human Movement patterns and six Primary Physical Characteristics. We do this according to each individual’s goals and physical abilities – meeting people where they are and helping them along the way to accomplish what they set out to do.
We’ve helped individuals reduce pain, improve performance, build muscle and strength, and lose significant amounts of body fat in ways that are healthy, and sustainable. I love sharing our clients testimonials because they represent possibility – not only for themselves – but for others to take action because they proved that it was possible.
We are also a Parisi Speed School affiliate which is the largest Youth Athlete training program around. After working with over 1 million athletes in the last 30 years and helping them to succeed all the way up to the highest level in sports including 130+ NFL Draft Picks, they have developed a training program that has been proven to work extremely well. It’s been very exciting to see this program grow since we have began offering it and we are excited to see it continue to do so going forward. We begin working with athletes at age 7 at our facility and are currently working with the Semi-Professional Hockey team, The Findlay Force.
Finally, because of my wife’s passion to help other women we offer dedicated Pre and Postpartum training designed for moms that are pregnant or who have had children to help restore their core and improve the function of their pelvic floor. Whether a mom is currently pregnant or has been postpartum for years, if they have not received a dedicated program for these purposes there’s a lot to benefit from this program.
Something we are well known for in the community is our family-friendly and faith-based environment at the gym. It’s important to us that everyone can walk into our facility and be encouraged while they are there. Our clients work hard and we definitely have fun, but the gym has an incredible atmosphere and it is a great place to invest your time and effort. We know that God has blessed us with the opportunity to operate this gym to serve others and we don’t take that responsibility lightly.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I think success is best defined by leaving someone better off than they were before you became a part of their life. That involvement can be something as short as a conversation at a gas station, or something as long as a lifelong friendship. Life is all about relationships, and I’m not sure success can be defined without positively influencing someone else’s life.
