Check Out Elijah Rushin’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elijah Rushin.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started writing music at eight years old. I started producing music at nine years old. My mother told me when I was able to start crawling as a baby. I was crawling to the cabinets to the pots and pans and I would beat on the pots and pans to create rhythm. My first time remembering hearing a rap song would probably be around the age of four and it was actually Slick Rick‘s “The Great Adventures of Slick Rick” album. From being around Music all my life and being around family who created music, it kind of got me to where I am today.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road, but I guess my realization in my life was, I can be the one to fix the road before I finish the rest of my journey. Meaning that if I set myself up for success, I could save a lot of the time that I may have wasted in my life. also, I think being in my head a lot in life was kind of something that was holding me back.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am musician, songwriter, and producer. I also founded my brand “LAME$culture.” In 2015. I am most proud of the motivation my music brings to people, I am also proud of the consistency of my growth in my art, everything is starting to connect itself now. What sets myself apart from others is actually not wanting to be apart from others, Art is a universal energy, we all need each other.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Hanging out with my family and friends and listening to all types of different artist and music. Waking up seeing music videos or your favorite TV show on TV before school. Being excited about hearing the newest music that came out that day. Hanging out with friends, creating music after school.
