Community Highlights: Meet Franchell Smalls-Lewis of FSL Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Franchell Smalls-Lewis.

Hi Franchell, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
FSL Services began when I was a mother of two with another baby on the way. I wanted to use my skills to build something meaningful while creating flexibility for my growing family. My faith was central to that decision, and I truly see this business as something I created in partnership with God. FSL stands for my name, Franchell Smalls-Lewis.

I started by helping business owners with administrative tasks, social media, and the everyday responsibilities that can become overwhelming when you’re managing everything yourself. As I worked with clients, I recognized that they also needed reliable support, clear systems, and someone who cared about their vision.

That understanding helped me grow FSL into a virtual assistant agency offering administrative, operational, social media, and event support. Along the way, I’ve learned how to lead a team, build client relationships, and balance entrepreneurship with motherhood.

At the end of 2025, I stepped into entrepreneurship full time. Today, I’m becoming more intentional about growing our operations and event support services. The heart of FSL remains the same: helping business owners create room to lead, grow, and focus on the work they’re called to do.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of my biggest struggles has been navigating doubt and fear—questioning whether I was making the right decisions, whether I could build a sustainable business, and whether I was truly ready for the next step.

Entrepreneurship comes with highs and lows. There’s the excitement of signing a new client or seeing your work make a difference, followed by quieter seasons when things aren’t moving as quickly as you hoped. I’ve had to learn not to let a slow season make me question everything I’ve built.

Balancing business and motherhood has also stretched me. As a mother of four, there are times when competing responsibilities feel heavy. I’ve had to become more intentional about my time, set boundaries, and accept that I need support, too.

My faith has helped me keep moving through those challenges. I’m learning that trusting God doesn’t mean I’ll never feel afraid. Sometimes it means taking the next step while I’m still afraid. This journey has taught me to recognize my progress, learn from setbacks, and keep showing up even when the outcome isn’t clear.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about FSL Services?
FSL Services is a Christian-based virtual assistant agency that helps business owners manage the responsibilities behind their business so they have more time to lead and grow. We offer administrative support, social media management, operational systems support, and event planning assistance, including on-site event support.

Our focus is increasingly on operations and event support. That can mean organizing an inbox and calendar, improving client communication, creating workflows, or coordinating the details that help an event run smoothly. I especially enjoy helping owners move from feeling overwhelmed to having clear processes and dependable support.

What sets FSL apart is the care we bring to each partnership. We take time to understand our clients’ goals, how they work, and where they need help. My faith shapes how I lead—with integrity, clear communication, and a commitment to following through. As an entrepreneur and mother of four, I also understand how valuable it is to have someone you can trust with the details.

What I’m most proud of is building a brand that reflects both my values and my desire to serve. FSL stands for my name, Franchell Smalls-Lewis, so there’s a personal responsibility behind the work we deliver. Watching a client gain time, feel supported, or finally move forward with a project is deeply rewarding.

I want readers to know they don’t have to wait until they’re completely overwhelmed to get support. Whether you need ongoing assistance or help with a specific project or event, FSL Services can help you create space for your next stage of growth.

Any big plans?
The next chapter for FSL Services is about becoming more intentional with our focus and growth. I’m looking forward to expanding our operations and event support services, including more opportunities to assist clients on-site. I enjoy bringing organization to a vision and helping manage the details that allow business owners to be fully present with their clients and guests.

I’m also focused on strengthening our internal systems and developing our team so we can serve more clients while maintaining the personal attention and dependable support that matter to me.

Personally, I’m excited to share more of the woman behind the business—my faith, motherhood, and the realities of entrepreneurship. My hope is that being more visible will help people connect with FSL and feel encouraged in their own journeys.

As we grow, I want to build a business that serves our clients well and creates meaningful opportunities for the people working alongside me. That’s the future I’m working toward.
