Today we’d like to introduce you to Kassandra Jackson.
Hi Kassandra , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story is really about learning how to keep building even when life doesn’t unfold in a straight line. I’m Kassandra Jackson, an entrepreneur, author, and the founder of Kassandra Berry Nail and Beauty Spa. What started with my love for beauty, creativity, and nails eventually grew into something much bigger.
Building Kassandra Berry taught me that I didn’t have to limit myself to one lane. I became involved in everything from product development and packaging to sales, e-commerce, branding, and creating press-on nail collections. That creative mindset eventually expanded beyond beauty into other projects, including Intentional Spice Co., the Golden Tongue collection, and becoming a published author.
At the same time, my journey hasn’t only been about business. I’ve experienced difficult seasons in my personal life, including navigating legal matters while continuing to be a mother, entrepreneur, and creator. Some parts of my life have become public in ways I didn’t necessarily choose, and that has taught me an important lesson: you can’t always control what chapter of your story someone encounters first, but you can continue creating the full story.
I don’t want difficult circumstances to erase everything else I’ve worked to build, and I also don’t believe in pretending those chapters never happened. They are part of my journey, but they aren’t the entirety of who I am.
Today, I’m continuing to grow my businesses, develop products, write, and explore new creative opportunities. One of the biggest things entrepreneurship has taught me is how to adapt. Plans change, businesses evolve, and life can challenge you in ways you never anticipated. I’ve learned to take those experiences as information, make adjustments, and keep moving forward.
Ultimately, I want my story to encourage other women not to believe they have to fit into one box—or be permanently defined by one chapter of their lives. I’m a mother, an entrepreneur, an author, and a creator, and I’m still evolving. I think there’s something powerful about allowing yourself to keep becoming who you’re meant to be.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been learning how to continue building while real life is happening at the same time. Entrepreneurship already comes with uncertainty—financial decisions, vendors, product development, marketing, learning new industries, and figuring things out without always having a roadmap. I’ve had plenty of ideas that needed to be reworked and plans that didn’t happen the way I originally envisioned.
Outside of business, I’ve also had to navigate motherhood and some very difficult personal and legal circumstances, portions of which became part of the public record. That has been challenging because when something difficult becomes searchable online, people can encounter one moment or allegation without having the context of your entire life. Because some matters are still being handled through the appropriate legal process, I’m intentional about not trying those issues publicly. I believe there is a proper place for those facts to be addressed.
What I can speak about is what the experience has taught me. I’ve learned that I can’t control every circumstance, every opinion, or what someone sees when they search my name. I can control how I respond, what I continue to create, how I show up for my children, and what I build from here.
There have been moments when it would have been much easier to stop. Instead, I kept developing products, writing, learning, creating, and growing my businesses. I’ve learned not to confuse a difficult chapter with the entire story.
That perspective has changed the way I approach entrepreneurship too. A setback is not automatically a failure. Sometimes it is information. Sometimes you have to change the packaging, change the strategy, start over, or simply keep going while the bigger picture is still coming together.
I’m proud that through all of those challenges, I’m still creating and still thinking about what comes next. My road hasn’t been perfect, but it has taught me resilience, adaptability, and how important it is to keep building a life that reflects more than your hardest moments.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Kassandra Berry Nail and Beauty Spa is a beauty brand built around creativity, self-expression, and making nails feel like an accessory rather than simply a beauty service. I started with nail services and have continued evolving the brand into product development, including press-on nail collections designed to give customers a convenient way to express their personal style.
What sets Kassandra Berry apart is the amount of thought I put into the entire experience. I’m involved in the creative direction, product concepts, packaging, sizing, presentation, e-commerce, marketing, and customer experience. I don’t want someone to simply receive a set of nails—I want opening the package and choosing a design to feel like part of the experience.
I’m especially proud of how the brand has evolved. I’ve learned to take what I know from working directly with nail customers and translate that into products that can reach people beyond a traditional salon appointment. That has pushed me to learn entirely new areas of business, from sourcing and manufacturing to digital commerce and product photography.
My vision is for Kassandra Berry Nail and Beauty Spa to continue growing beyond traditional nail services into a recognizable beauty and lifestyle brand. I want our products to feel distinctive, creative, and memorable while still giving customers something practical: the freedom to change their nails and express themselves on their own terms.
Most importantly, I want people to understand that Kassandra Berry is still evolving. I’m not interested in simply following whatever is popular at the moment. I want to build products with an identity of their own, because I believe trends can generate attention, but identity creates longevity.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Adaptability has probably been the most important quality in my journey. I’ve learned that success rarely happens exactly the way you planned it. Sometimes the product changes, the strategy changes, life changes, or circumstances completely outside of your control force you to reconsider what comes next.
I’ve had to learn how to adjust without abandoning the bigger vision. Whether I’m navigating challenges in my personal life, raising my children, developing a new product, working through an unexpected business obstacle, or entering an industry I’ve never worked in before, I’ve become comfortable with learning as I go.
I think there’s a difference between giving up and being willing to change direction. Some of my best ideas have come from realizing that the original plan wasn’t the only way forward.
That adaptability has also allowed me to build beyond one lane. I can be an entrepreneur, author, mother, and creator without believing that one title has to define everything I do.
For me, success isn’t about everything going according to plan. It’s about being able to evolve when it doesn’t.
