Hi Anam Khalid, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My love for makeup started when I was just a little girl. I was always captivated by women who carried themselves with beautiful makeup, carefully observing their looks and techniques.

During festivals, I would save all the money I received as gifts just to buy makeup. That passion led me to complete my first professional makeup certification at just 14 years old.

While I continued to practice and hone my art, I also pursued my academics and completed my Master’s in Psychology. After my studies, I followed my true calling and completed another certification in cosmetology to turn my passion into a profession.

Gradually, my work started getting recognized, and I began my journey as a professional makeup artist.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This journey has not been without its challenges. As a mother of two little girls, ages 4 years and 8 months, and as a wife, managing my professional work alongside my home and family can be demanding.

However, beyond that, my journey has been smooth and rewarding, thanks to the constant support of my family , friends and clients.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I love being creative — doing makeup and creating different looks keeps my inner creativity alive. To date, I have had the honor of doing makeup for over 2,000 faces and I am still going strong.

For me, the most rewarding and exciting part is being able to bring my clients’ desired vision to life.

I specialize in all styles of makeup, from soft and glamorous Asian bridal looks to modern American styles, creating a look that is uniquely tailored to each client.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I got most of my work through word of mouth in the beginning but now social media like instagram helps a lot for networking purposes.
