Community Highlights: Meet Ashley Dishion of Functional Now

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Dishion.

Hi Ashley, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After my own personal struggles with chronic illnesses and being told I would have these diagnoses requiring lifelong medication and not finding answers with traditional medicine I dove into research studying places in the world where people live the longest and healthiest. From there I began implementing alternative health strategies and have since found optimal health and wellness without the use of traditional medications. With my own healing journey I felt lead to start my own medical practice helping others find optimal health. Functional Now is a Christ centered practice offering primary care and functional integrative medicine, caring for all ages birth to end of life. For years previously I had worked for other companies starting their primary care and functional medicine practices and in 2024 I felt called to start my own practice. Functional Now has grown by leaps and bounds and we are still rapidly growing and offering more modalities. I am passionate about helping others and care deeply about my patients and their families. We often pray with our patients and are always praying for our patients.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
HA! Anyone who has started their own business without investors, business background, funds from parents, if answering honestly, will tell you it is not a smooth road. It has been a significant learning journey for me. We have a great team here at Functional Now who supports and encourages each other and helps out when needed. This team goes above and beyond and is one of the key reasons Functional Now is where it is today. God is absolutely the foundation of this practice and has guided me in making the decisions I have as a business owner. Some of the struggles along the way include starting with no money and growing organically without any marketing. Finding a building to purchase and own in 2026 was a journey and a huge financial risk. Finding the right team has been a struggle and we now have a strong foundational team. For the first year and a half as the sole provider and starting a practice from scratch there were many many sleepless nights and extremely long hours. Having a family of my own and starting a practice came with its own difficulties trying to balance work and life. There are always new areas to grow in and learn from.

Functional Now is a Christ centered, primary care and functional integrative medicine practice offering care for all ages birth to end of life. We specialize in addressing mold (mycotoxins), fungus, dysbiosis, HRT, MTHFR (addressing genetics), thyroid optimization. What sets us apart from others is that we look for the root cause instead of addressing symptoms. Another area that sets us apart in primary care is parent choice and praying with our patients. We offer same day sicks visits and a membership option. I am most proud that this is a place where patients truly feel heard and find answers. I want readers to know that Functional Now is a place where our patients feel cared for, listened to, and prayed over.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I have learned along the way is to never underestimate the power of what God can do when I have faith and take the next step.

• Membership options: Individual $125/month, Couple $200/month, Family (up to 4 under the age of 25) $275 per month, each additional child is $20 per month

• Nonmember follow up appointments: $250 for 50 minutes
• Red Light Therapy $20 per session for members, $40 per session for nonmembers
