Meet Demariel Baker of Ohio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Demariel Baker.

Hi Demariel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story really began with music. What started as a passion for creating and understanding music eventually grew into a career as a producer and audio engineer. I’ve always been fascinated by what happens behind the scenes. Taking an idea, a sound, or a feeling and turning it into something people can connect with.

Over the years, I’ve worked to turn that passion into something bigger than just making music. I built my experience through producing, engineering, collaborating with established artists and professional athletes, and eventually creating my own space and opportunities through Playback CLE. I’ve also expanded my work through PlayAligned, where I’m able to connect music, creativity, and personal development for professional athletes and behavioral health kids in a different way.

Getting to where I am today hasn’t happened overnight. There have been plenty of challenges, lessons, and moments where I had to keep believing in the vision even when the results weren’t immediate. Those experiences taught me the importance of consistency, relationships, and staying true to what I’m building.

Today, I’m continuing to grow as a creative entrepreneur while looking for ways to use music and my experiences to create opportunities for other people. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, but I also feel like I’m still at the beginning of what I’m capable of building.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My studio caught on fire and I lost everything. I had to work at another studio for 2 years to save up to buy a new commercial space. I then used my carpenting skills to build a new studio from scratch with the help of my close people.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a music producer, recording engineer, and creative entrepreneur focused on developing artists, creating high-quality music, and building meaningful opportunities within the music and entertainment industry. My work spans music production, vocal recording, audio engineering, creative direction, and artist development, allowing me to contribute to a project from its initial concept through its final execution.

Throughout my career, I’ve built a reputation for combining technical expertise with a strong creative vision. I understand that great music is about more than sound. it’s about identity, storytelling, relationships, and creating an experience that connects with an audience. I take pride in creating professional environments where artists can perform at their highest level while helping translate their ideas into polished, commercially viable projects.

What sets me apart is my ability to operate at the intersection of creativity, technology, and business. I bring an entrepreneurial mindset to everything I do, constantly looking for ways to expand my network, create opportunities, and build sustainable platforms for artists and creatives. I’m most proud of turning my passion for music into a multifaceted career and continuing to grow as both a creative and a business-minded professional.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was always outside. I couldn’t sit down. I was always finding ways to make money. Either snowing driveways on weekends or cutting somebodies grass for profit. Ive always had that go get it mentality. I was big into basketball baseball and football, and I loved playing call of duty. My mom had joined the military when I was in the 7th grade which made me change my whole upbringing. We moved to Texas and started a new life.
