Today we’d like to introduce you to Fran Kerg.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Thirty years or so ago, my hands spontaneously became extremely hot and I felt energy moving through them. This happened when I was reading a book about Edgar Cayce, an intuitive whose work included helping people with health problems, many of whom had run out of options. I was so moved by his story that I thought then and there, all I want to do is help people heal. And with that simple and sincere thought, the hands started to heat up.
Shortly afterward, a friend told me about Reiki. The idea amazed me—I had no idea that someone could be taught how to work with energy in this way. By the time I earned my Usui Reiki Master certification, I was hooked. Since then, I’ve completed more than 20 certification programs in different energetic modalities and spent decades studying the human biofield and ways of working with it. As a lifelong learner, that education continues today as an advanced student of Dr. Joe Dispenza and through training in Human Medicine with internationally known healer Charlie Goldsmith.
In some ways, though, the story began much earlier. As a child, I was extremely sensitive. With no understanding of psychic ability or what it meant to be an empath, there was no framework for making sense of my experiences. As a result I became very introverted and ungrounded.
That continued into adulthood until a serious pursuit of energy medicine began. Learning to understand and work with energy changed both my personality and life for the better. What had once felt confusing became something to explore, develop and eventually use to help others. That led to a deep dive into the study of the human biofield and energetic practices, work that has remained a central part of my life ever since.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The field itself has been challenging, partly because of the nature of the work. Things are light-years better for energy practitioners than they were thirty years ago, but practitioners can still find themselves labeled as ignorant, delusional, fraudulent or even demonic simply because their work falls outside another person’s understanding or belief system.
Fortunately, attitudes have changed tremendously, primarily through client experience and at least partially as a result of studies funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other organizations which have proven energetic treatments to be beneficial. A good number of the NIH studies were done locally at the Cleveland Clinic in the early 2000’s. Reiki, probably the best-known hands-on form of energy healing, has become much more familiar to the general public and can now be found in many conventional healthcare and supportive-care settings. Acupuncture, another practice based on working with the body’s energetic system, has also become widely recognized and accepted.
So although skepticism certainly hasn’t disappeared, the conversation surrounding energy and the human body is very different from the one I encountered when I began thirty years ago. It’s been fascinating to watch that evolution—and to be part of it.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work concentrates specifically on the biofield—the energetic field that surrounds, interacts with, and contains the human body. I’m particularly interested in the relationship between frequency, the biofield, and our physical and emotional experiences.
One of the principles behind energy medicine is that human suffering isn’t merely stored intellectually; there is also an energetic component which elicits a physiological response. When the energetic charge associated with a difficult experience is successfully integrated into the biofield, a client can retain a clear memory of what happened without experiencing an intense emotional response when recalling it. Similarly, working with energetic patterns associated with physical discomfort many times results in meaningful changes in how a person feels and experiences their physical body.
I use a variety of hands-on and energetic modalities, including Polarity Therapy, Reiki, Chakra Balancing, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Emotion Code and others. My office also features frequency-based technologies, including Bio-Well (a biofield assessment tool), as well as Trinfinity8 and Ascension11.
The latter two use combinations of frequencies, tones and encoded information with the intention of supporting regeneration, transformation and expanded states of awareness. Sound and sacred tones have been used in spiritual and healing traditions for thousands of years. These technologies bring that ancient concept into a modern frequency-based format, using tones as a carrier for additional information.
Many energy medicine modalities can also be practiced at a distance, allowing me to work with clients who aren’t able to come to the office.
One of the things I’m most proud of is developing an energetic healing modality called Chakra Harmonics. The work began more than a decade ago and brings together sound healing with tuning forks, heart coherence, energetic entrainment, breathwork and other techniques designed to help identify and process low-frequency energy held in the biofield.
What has been especially rewarding is hearing clients describe the changes they experience. People have reported reductions in stress and physical discomfort, fewer repetitive thought patterns, and greater feelings of balance, freedom, wholeness, expansiveness and forgiveness. A good percentage describe being able to look at a person, situation or past experience from an entirely different—and much more peaceful—perspective.
Chakra Harmonics, like all frequency-based modalities, doesn’t rely on talk therapy. The client doesn’t need to consciously focus on, repeatedly analyze or retell a difficult experience in order to work with the energetic response associated with it.
I’ve been teaching Chakra Harmonics to other practitioners for several years, which has been particularly meaningful to me. In addition, I teach Reiki, Crystal Mandalas and other energy-related subjects. Established scientific principles are incorporated into all of my classes because I believe it’s time to take the “woo-woo” out of these techniques. Real science is available that can help us understand many aspects of energy medicine, and I want my students to have that information—not only for their own understanding, but so they can confidently share it with their clients.
At the same time, energy medicine is an art, not a series of protocols. I teach students to understand the principles and techniques, but also to develop their sensitivity, intuition and ability to respond to the individual in front of them. That combination of knowledge, experience and intuitive awareness is at the heart of both my practice and my teaching.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
