Life & Work with Devi DeVille of Ohio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Devi DeVille.

Hi Devi, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The 1st time I ever performed in front of a sold out audience, I was 6 years old with Otis Williams and the Temptations when they came to Springfield, Ohio. That started school solos, choirs, plays etc. Now, I write my own music, record it myself, mix and engineer it myself and put it out. I took time to learn the business side of music and I’ve been perfecting my craft and I’m ready to show the world who Devi DeVille really is.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No it hasn’t! The music business is brutal, and the few that are able to push through are the ones that become our Timeless musicians. I’ve lost $15k trying to invest in myself through older artists that use previous fame to scam upcoming artists like Benzino for example from Love and Hip Hop. Being a single mom of growing boys having big dreams is very hard work. It can be draining to keep going in an oversaturated market that has began to devalue true art.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I live a double life. I do music! I sing, I rap, I write. I creatively direct, I produce…people that know me for those things know Devi. How am I able to fund my music independently? I’m a nurse. I was an STNA for 7 years and I’ve been a nurse for 9. I’m most proud because I have a catalogue of music and I’m good at it but I haven’t chose to sell my soul just to see success. I know that that makes me different. I dont care how long it takes because I’m betting on me…you have to be delusional about your dreams for them to come true.
