Today we’d like to introduce you to Skylar Gaver-Baughman.
Hi Skylar, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Skylar Dean Christian Gaver-Baughman, born June 16, 1995, in Alliance, OH, and raised in Damascus, OH, has always had a passion for the creative arts. From soccer and Star Wars to musicals, his childhood was filled with a love for storytelling and expression. Known as the “oddball” in many social settings, Skylar was never one to fit into the “normal” crowd. He spent much of his youth experimenting with his appearance, trying to discover his true identity.
At 16, Skylar discovered music as a form of self-expression. That Christmas, he received a microphone and began recording on his parents’ laptop using Mixcraft software. Growing up with a belief in clean, impactful art, he was often reminded of the words, “Will Smith didn’t have to cuss to make it, why do you?” This message inspired Skylar to pursue music as a Christian artist, initially under the name “The Prophecy.”
As the years passed, Skylar’s musical journey evolved. He changed his stage name multiple times—first to SkyyMusic330and then Skyy—each time reflecting his personal and artistic growth. In 2015, Skylar moved to Austintown, where he continued to develop his sound and life vision. Over the years, Skylar faced significant personal losses, yet he used these experiences to refine both his music and himself.
Throughout this period, Skylar also became a father to two sons, Adryan and Kayden, and, in 2025, married his lifelong partner. Today, under the name skyywalker33y0, Skylar has found peace and fulfillment, balancing the roles of husband, father, full-time professional, and musician. Living life to the fullest, Skylar continues to pursue his dreams, both in music and in his personal life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not. i’ve noticed being in the industry for 10+ years, that there isn’t many “real” people and a lot just use you to ride your wave. music gets expensive and being a father i have to set my priorities first. so i’m not able to record and release as much as id like.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
i work a full time asphalt. laborer operator and all. as well as being a full time dad of 2 boys and a faithful husband to my wife. i’m a huge star wars nerd so im known for that right there as well as my love for family. i don’t write like a regular artist or stuck to one genre. i’m an outgoing person so it ain’t hard to get involved wherever im at
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
staying true to myself. my wife, and my kids. they are my backbone and my biggest critics.
