Daily Inspiration: Meet Jackie Djordjevic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jackie Djordjevic.

Hi Jackie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Heirloom Chef after working in the food industry for 13 years. I was feeling over worked and struggling with my personal health. I had been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis as a teenager and struggled into my 20’s with it. I had finally found through my nutrition I was able to get my arthritis into remission. Heirloom Chef is a reflection of how I cook for myself every day and what makes me feel healthiest.

I’ve been doing this for going on 8 years now and continue to reach more people in the Cincinnati/NKY area through word of mouth mostly. I think we really fill a great gap for busy individuals or families who very much care about their quality of food but don’t feel they have the time to cook.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s never smooth when you operate a business, but I’ve mostly stayed consistent in my weekly tasks and that has kept me on track. The food industry is full of unknowns and a big struggle over the past several years is changes in supply chain and cost of food rising.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We cook pre-made meals that we deliver right to the customers front door. Meals are gluten and dairy free and we are a Whole30 in partner. Our menu rotates weekly and we offer seasonal soups, salads and other desserts and add ons. I think I’m most proud that we can create menus that everyone can find something they like. There’s a lot of variety and it’s never boring!

What makes you happy?
I’m happy when I can help a busy family out or someone who just feels overwhelmed with meals each night. I’m always so grateful when someone tells me our meals have made their weeknights so much less of a hassle
