Check Out Vincent “Just Vince” Stroud’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincent “Just Vince” Stroud.

Hi Vincent “Just Vince”, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Music and performing has always been in my blood. My first actual performance was in kindergarten when he pantomimed Sammy Davis Jr’s’ hit song, “Gingerbread Man” for the entire school, he has been singing and performing in various choirs and singing groups ever since. I’ve sung with Grammy Award winning gospel group “Charles Fold and the Charles Fold Singers” from 1994-1999 and was on a few of their released recordings. My passion for performing and entertaining intensified when I won the 2004 singing competition called “P&G Idol” at Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 2006, I entered a competition for singers and comedians titled “Ageless Entertainers” and won the Best Overall Vocalist category. Since 2007, I’ve been the lead male vocalist in the Jazz/R&B band touted as ‘Cincinnati’s Premier R&B Band’, “2nd Wind”. In 2009, I won the singing contest called “Cincinnati Idol”. That same year, I started my own band called, “Just Vince and The Fellas”. I was asked to perform with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra for their Holiday Concert in December 2010. During the last several years, I have had the opportunity to share the stage with national recording artists such as; Mint Condition, ConFunkShun, Eric Benet, The Whispers, Fantasia, Charlie Wilson, John Legend, Klymaxx, Lakeside, Tom Browne, Al B. Sure, Will Downing, Ruben Studdard, Chico DeBarge, Glenn Jones, Freddie Jackson, Jonathan Butler, Comedian Spike Davis, Jeffrey Osborne, Midnight Star, Karyn White, Regina Belle and others.
And even auditioned for The Mighty Temptations in 2019 and met the living Legend, Dr. Otis Williams
And now, I’m the Lead Singer of the National Recording Fungk Group, Slave!!!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Any time you are striving to do what you love or follow your passion, there will be hiccups!! From people saying I wasn’t good enough or a concert or 2 that was poorly attended. DEFINITELY makes you want to rethink your plan. Also scheduling issues with your singers and musicians.. the time spent away from family and friends because of a hectic rehearsal and performance schedules… those things and more can cause one to just quit… and there was time, that I almost did… but I believe I was put on this planet to give music so I kept pushing forward.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a singer/performer/entertainer… to me, that’s what sets me apart as well as my musical catalog. I don’t sing just R&B, Motown or Soul music… I sing any and everything… Pop, Rock, Country, Standards, Gospel. When it comes to music and performing, variety gets you and KEEPS you booked and busy!!

I’m probably most proud, when I see my family in the audience. Knowing that they have my back and are supporting me, means the world to me!!

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love the support I’ve gotten over the years from my Hometown fan base!!

I detest the violence that’s going on in Cincinnati… I know that doesn’t have anything to do with music… but it can and does affect the city’s desire to step foot outside of their homes to attend an outdoor event in say the downtown area… out of fear of some act of violence.
