Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessy Lee.
Hi Jessy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Statement Peace started in 2017 with one piece and a vision that felt much bigger than where I was standing.
I could already see it out in the world—on shelves, in shops, on people I had never met. So I worked toward that picture with manifestation, perseverance, hard work, and probably more than anything, an unshakeable will.
One piece became a collection. Markets became wholesale. Wholesale became retailers across the country.
There have been pivots, flops, wins, reinventions, and a lot of figuring it out as I go. But I never stopped believing in where this brand could go.
Nearly 10 years later, Statement Peace is now an international brand.
What started as something I could only see in my mind became real because I refused to stop moving toward it.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not smooth.
Building a brand means constantly betting on yourself before there is proof anyone else will.
There have been slow seasons, failed products, bad investments, wholesale accounts that disappeared, markets that humbled me, and plenty of moments where quitting would have been the easier option.
The hardest part has probably been staying steady through the uncertainty. Entrepreneurship can be wildly validating one day and completely humbling the next.
But I have always had an almost unreasonable ability to keep going.
I pivot, I create, I rebuild, I try again.
That stubbornness has probably been one of my greatest business assets.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I create from a high vibrational and creative flow.
Statement Peace is a lifestyle brand rooted in self-expression, ritual, energy, and intention. From wooden jewelry and mantra pieces to ritual goods, fragrance, accessories, and burned hats, everything has that Statement Peace frequency running through it.
What sets us apart is that I don’t design from trend reports. I design from instinct. If it doesn’t move me, I don’t expect it to move anyone else.
I’m most proud that nearly 10 years in, the brand has grown internationally without losing its soul.
It’s bohemian with an edge. Spiritual without being precious. A little gritty, a little unexpected, and unapologetically authentic.
That’s Statement Peace.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My life is probably my biggest mentor.
The experiences, the wins, the mistakes, the people I meet, and the conversations I have all teach me constantly.
I’m also very intentional about who I surround myself with. If we’re not having high-vibrational, inspiring conversations on a regular basis, it’s probably not the right circle for me.
Traditional networking has never really been my thing. I connect better through real relationships, shared energy, curiosity, and people who are actually doing interesting things with their lives.
I think the best mentors aren’t always officially “mentors.” Sometimes they’re just the people around you who challenge you, expand the way you think, and remind you what’s possible.
