Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Wiles.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Yes — I’d make your creativity the heart of the story, with technology being one of the things that makes you unique rather than the main focus. You want them to understand that you’re a multidisciplinary creative: fashion, sewing, design, content, entrepreneurship, and technology all connect in your world.

My journey has always been rooted in creativity and the desire to create something that feels uniquely mine.

I’ve always been someone with a lot of different interests. I love fashion, sewing, design, technology, and creating things from an idea in my head and turning them into something tangible. For me, creativity has never really been limited to one medium. Sometimes it’s designing and sewing a garment, sometimes it’s developing a concept for my brand, creating content, experimenting with technology, or simply figuring out a new way to bring an idea to life.

Fashion has become one of the biggest ways I express that creativity. I’m a clothing brand owner and sewist, and building my brand has given me the opportunity to explore not only clothing but storytelling, branding, design, and the entire creative process behind building a world that people can connect with.

I’ve also built a presence through social media by sharing fashion, humor, personality, and relatable content. That experience has taught me that people don’t just connect with what you make . they connect with the person and the story behind it.

At the same time, I have a background in Computer Science and have built a career in technology. I actually love that part of my life because technology and creativity overlap more than people realize. I’m naturally curious and I love learning how things work, experimenting, solving problems, and figuring out how different ideas can come together.

I think what makes my journey different is that I’ve never been interested in being just one thing. I’m an artist, designer, sewist, entrepreneur, content creator, and technologist. I’m constantly exploring new mediums and finding ways to combine them.

Right now, I’m really focused on embracing that multidisciplinary side of myself instead of trying to fit myself into one category. I want to create fashion, experiences, content, and eventually even explore the intersection of technology and design.

I’m still figuring out exactly what that looks like, but I think that’s part of the beauty of being a creative. I don’t have to have the entire picture figured out before I start creating it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For me as a full time mom since I was 20 years old working full time and going to school ultimately gaining my bachelors in computer science with my two children. College was one of the most pivotal moments of my life . I created a clothing brand alongside a food business called the jar bar to take care of us during my last years in college to make ends meet while studying to compete my degree. Those days helped shape me and grow me in ways I never imagined but also thankful and grateful for the journey and preserving through it all

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a single mother of two, and without a doubt, my children are what I’m most proud of. They are a huge part of why I continue to push myself, even when life gets difficult. My journey has been about refusing to give up on myself or the ideas I know I’m capable of bringing to life. I’ve built a career in technology with my Computer Science background, while also nurturing the creative side of me through fashion, sewing, design, content creation, and entrepreneurship. Balancing motherhood, my responsibilities, my career, and my creative dreams hasn’t always been easy, but I’ve continued to show up and make things happen. I’m proud of myself for not allowing my circumstances to stop me from starting, creating, and pursuing something bigger. My goal is to continue turning my creative ideas into something people recognize, connect with, and eventually know me for within this industry. I want my children to see that their mother didn’t give up on her dreams and that with determination, creativity, and consistency, you can build something that is truly your own.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Knowing how to pivot when necessary and knowing those long days and nights will pay off
