Rising Stars: Meet Nakita Pope

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nakita Pope.

Hi Nakita, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My love for skin began at a young age. Your skin is what people see first when they meet you, and I’ve always wanted to have the best skin possible. In high school, I never had bad acne, however, watching my peers around me go through and experience challenging skin conditions made me try countless methods and research at-home remedies to try to help them solve their skin problems. This inspired me to pursue an education in skincare and learn it on a deeper level. My brand N’finity Skin Esthetics was designed to provide everyone with a unique and relaxing experience. Providing everything from custom facials to full body waxing, my main priority is to properly treat and care for the skin with each service ensuring each & every client goes home loving the skin they’re in.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey so far has been everything but smooth. Nothing can really prepare you for what comes with starting a business, especially at a young age. One of the biggest obstacles I’ve experienced is building a loyal and stable clientele base. You can promote yourself daily, but that won’t necessarily guarantee clients will come.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a 20-year-old Licensed Advanced Esthetician. I specialize in custom facials including dermaplaning, deep treatments, microdermabrasions, chemical peels, acne, and hyperpigmentation treatments. Hair removal services from head to toe, including full Brazilians. Eyebrow services such as waxing, tinting, and laminations. Makeup applications including natural looks and full face glams including glitter, rhinestones, and colorful eyeshadows.

What sets me apart is my true love for the skin. Anybody can put some products on a face and tell you they do this and that, but when you actually know the science behind things and the reason certain products do what they do it creates an unforgettable and teachable experience for the clients.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The esthetics portion of the beauty industry may look like only a small portion; however, it is truly the backbone of the industry. In 5-10 years, I predict that our industry will only grow and play an even bigger part in so many everyday lives. With today’s technology, everyone is constantly on cameras and videos and so many social media platforms that people are becoming more aware of their skin and the way it looks. Even with makeup, a smooth blank base is the key to any good makeup, so it’s easier to fix the issue rather than trying to cover it up.
