Today we’d like to introduce you to D’Ajah King.

D’Ajah King

Hi D’Ajah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is D’Ajah. I am 26 years old & the owner of D compressed Beauty I have been passionate about hairstyling since the age of 13. Following my junior year at Garfield High School, I embarked on a formal cosmetology program. Although my initial attempt at the state board exam in 2015 was unsuccessful, I remained committed and passed. In 2019 I started to do hair full time. I started working at Hair Doc Total Image Salon under the mentorship of Asia Williamson; during my time there, I learned so much as a stylist, things I thought I had already known. I am grateful for the mentorship and expertise of the fellow stylists who have contributed to my growth and success.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road at all. I’ve had times when I had no clients and nowhere to work, but through it all, I just kept believing in God.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a licensed cosmetologist, I specialize in weaves and precise blunt-cut bobs, with a reputation for delivering exceptional results. My greatest accomplishment is overcoming my fears and becoming consistently booked. I attribute my success and unwavering dedication to client satisfaction, ensuring no client leaves my chair without flawless hair.

What are your plans for the future?
My goal is to develop a high-end hair line, allowing me to deliver top-notch hair services to my clients during their appointments.
