Hi Gabrielle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Gabrielle—also known as GabrielleShantell—a Licensed Makeup Artist based in Columbus, Ohio. My makeup journey started back in high school, doing looks for homecoming and proms.

What started as a hobby quickly became more than that. Makeup was my passion, my creative playground, and honestly, my little therapy sessions. I loved experimenting with glitter, bold colors, and all the “why not?” looks. And along the way, I realized this talent was a gift from God—a way to connect with women and celebrate their unique beauty.

In 2023, I became officially licensed and launched Beauty Is You!

Beauty Is You is rooted in the truth that real beauty flows from our God-given identity—that every woman is already beautiful because of who she is in Christ.

What began as a love for makeup has grown into something greater: a way to help women not only feel radiant on the outside but also walk in confidence, purpose, and the inner beauty that shines from within. For me, makeup is more than artistry—it’s ministry.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been an easy journey, but it’s been worth every step. There were times I wasn’t sure where my artistry was taking me or what direction to go next. But the struggles along the way gave me a deeper understanding of why I do what I do.

Every time I thought about putting down my makeup brush, a woman would sit in my chair with her own story, her own journey—and those moments reminded me of my purpose. Each connection has blessed me and reignited my “why.” That’s what keeps me moving forward.

I specialize in makeup, with a focus on bridal. One of the things that makes my work unique is my soft, clean finish—I love enhancing the natural beauty that’s already there. Most of my clients book my signature soft glam look, and the feedback I hear most often is, “I still look like myself, just more polished and glam.” That’s the greatest compliment, because it’s exactly what I aim for.
Bridal makeup holds a special place in my heart! Every bride brings her own sparkle to the big day, and I love being part of those unforgettable moments. It’s such a joy and an honor to help you feel confident, beautiful, and absolutely radiant as you walk down the aisle.
Beauty Is You began with my passion for makeup artistry, but this is just the beginning. There’s so much more to come—I see it growing into skincare, makeup classes, women’s brunches, empowerment events, and so many other ways to celebrate and uplift women in the future.
