Hi Dania, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
While I did secure a fabulous professional photographer for my wedding day, I also wanted a content queen to capture the unposed and candid behind-the-scenes moments so that I didn’t have to wait 6-9 weeks to relive the memories. After a tireless and seemingly unsuccessful search for someone in Columbus, Ohio that could follow us around with my iPhone all day, I decided to become that someone for future couples.
Most everyone I know can attest to the fact that I love documenting friendship, emotion, and authenticity. If we pass good lighting or a colorful backdrop, I’m going to ask you to sit pretty for a photo. And I’m going to tell you how cute you look for every thousand pictures and videos I take.
Wedding Days With Dania is designed to give couples the peace of mind that every moment — big and small — will be documented. I use my iPhone 15 Pro to capture wedding days as they organically unfold so that the wedding party and loved ones can be in the moment alongside my clients. Then, within 24 hours, I deliver a full album with all the raw footage so my couples have something to hold onto while they wait for their official photographer or videographer to deliver their magic a few weeks later. Oftentimes, they are in their hotel room the next morning eating breakfast or on their way to their honeymoon when they receive the clips, which is pretty special. I compile all the best clips and footage into a highlight video synced to their favorite song.
On wedding day, here’s what that looks like: Dancing with your girlfriends while you get ready? Consider the moment documented. Your mom tearing up as she puts on your veil? Consider the moment documented. Your grandma giggling with excitement as you share your vows? Documented. Your partner admiring you during your first dance? Documented. You get the gist.
I can be with couples from dawn to dusk or for just the highlights. Wedding day goes by fast and can feel like a blur. I’m here to make sure no moment goes unnoticed or gets forgotten.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I started my business just one month ago, and so far, it’s flourishing! Of course, as with any new venture, there have been hurdles. For instance, I’ve experienced technical difficulties with online invoicing platforms and faced negativity from a vendor or two. But for the most part, I feel overwhelmingly encouraged by my community ever since introducing this service to the Columbus market. While wedding content creation is new to Columbus, Ohio, it has become an industry trend in major cities like LA and NYC. And it’s going to take off!
I’ve performed extensive research (I have a marketing background) and connected with other creators across the country on best practices to ensure I’m well-equipped to document the most important day of a couple’s life together. Since beginning my business one month ago, I’ve captured 7 shoots. Getting to connect with so many genuine people has been a highlight.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I started my career as a content copywriter before transferring into a marketing project management role. What excites me most about my day job is being able to organize projects. Which I think is why I enjoy the business side of Wedding Days With Dania so much. I’m passionate about providing a positive experience for my clients from the inquiry phase through to the day after their wedding.
Personally, I am evolving all the time. If you would have asked me 5 years ago, I was on the road or in a plane every month but today, I’m building a business with roots grounded in my hometown. In fact, I just hired an associate to join my team and am thrilled to give her creative freedom to create alongside me!
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
To trust my intuition and capabilities! I entered 2024 knowing that I was stepping into the best version of myself. The confidence I feel today is something I aim to pass on to my clients on their wedding day. When I was younger, my mom said I used to run over to children on the playground to congratulate them when they went down the big slide. “Good job!” I’d say. Today, that same energy exists on wedding day. I’m never going to stop cheering on my clients.
