Life & Work with Terri Bolds Wilkinson-Hill

Today we’d like to introduce you to Terri Bolds Wilkinson-Hill.

Hi Terri, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I graduated with my Master’s Degree and License in 2006, and I had never been happy with any job I’ve ever had. Nothing felt like forever or like I was meant to be there. My uncle was a huge advocate for entrepreneurship in an era where it was not popular and he used to tell me to start my own business. He told me that I was wasting my degree by continuing to seek employment after employment knowing it was inevitable that I wouldn’t be happy. So in 2015, I called him and told him I was ready and he guided me every step of the way. How could the niece of the founder of the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky African American Chamber of Commerce be scared to do what she was molded to believe in. My Uncle named my business Bold Visions Consulting and for that reason alone I will never change it. Then I became so disenchanted with my then job, that I didn’t even want to roll out of bed to walk to the other room to log in for the day. I worked from home and was still miserable. So in 2017, I made a plan to draw from my retirement and work temp jobs because I could no longer live so unfulfilled and building someone else’s dream.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It absolutely has not been a smooth road. My income is dependent on contracts. My field is mental health. My books are related to mental health and self-esteem concepts which deems me unpopular and desired for free. I have not mastered marketing or learning all of the opportunities out there for me, but I am encouraged daily to educate myself because my service is bigger than I am allowing the world to see.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As an author, speaker and facilitator I develop my material. I am thankful to God for my wandering and imaginative mind daily. I’m most proud of being able to connect with my audiences in person and through my writing by utilizing real life experiences to educate and heal.

I am also very proud of having my books in bookstores and this may seem silly but sent a care package to the White House before The Obama’s left and I received a thank you card; I’m proud of that.

I’m most known for my books, shirts and my name. Any of those three things will trigger someone’s remembrance of me.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I have so many fond memories as a child but I would just generally say family. I came from a big family and had extended family that made my life beautiful.
