Today we’d like to introduce you to Kory Sherer

Hi Kory , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started learning neon 31 years ago in Detroit MI., through the years of bending I’ve developed great skills with making neon . After the development of LEDS Neon benders have to be more creative I decided to use my skills to make Neon art in 2018 to show people what can be done with neon . In the last year I opened a Neo art Gallery (Glow Gallery)and thought I needed a n epic art piece so I built a Neon glass Jeep as we are the glass city and the home of the Jeep . We use the gallery to have events and rent it for events.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The time and dedication it take just to learn the craft of bending neon where you can fix anything that comes through the door takes 5 years. LEDS have made it harder for neon workers especially now that they call them neon lights and can sell them cheaper. Even though they can never compare to true neon lighting.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m very passionate about my work in the last year I’ve made the decision to build a 3-D Neon Glass vehicle not knowing if the task could be done . In my head I thought if I could just make a tire I could scale the whole vehicle from there . I’ve always wanted to make a Glass Jeep in the glass city home of the Jeep . I made a tire that lead me to the side piece by piece I made all the parts not knowing if I could even assemble it. 7 months, 430 hr, 31 ft of neon glass only one in the world. Neon Glass 3-D Jeep.
It’s in my Neon gallery for everyone to enjoy. My life time masterpiece, so far.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Never give up stay focused and believe in yourself is the three most important things !!!!
