We’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Martin, a mother, grandmother, veteran and entrepreneur.

Hi Kimberly, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always loved to cook. I take care of all of the holiday meals, birthdays, anniversaries and even reunions for my friends and family. I worked in the mortgage industry for almost 30 years. I lost my job in August 2024 and was unsuccessful in finding anything else in the industry that fit my needs. My husband and I have talked for a while now about starting a food truck. I decided it was maybe time for me to do something I truly love and make some money while doing it. It’s been a little over a year now and I have done corporate events, birthday parties, graduation parties and even some fundraisers.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been fairly smooth, the most difficult thing is the red tape with taxes and licenses. Not too bad so far.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I prepare, deliver and serve home cooked meals for all occasions. I take pride in stating that I do not use any precooked store items and all of my dishes are made from scratch. I customize every menu to fit the dietary needs of my clients and even go off menu if needed to provide what all guests need to enjoy the event. I offer corporate catering, event catering and mobile services. I also offer Steak fries and BBQ items on site. My goal by next year is to also add a food truck to my business.

My business almost strictly comes from word of mouth. The more people share their experience with my company the more referrals I get. This is the best form of advertising I believe. Keep spreading the word!
