Life & Work with Chris Wells

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Wells.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Back in September of 2021 I was going through some personal things in a relationship and the aftermath lead me to be homeless, sleeping inside of my car outside of work. I was able to stay with a friend, and not too long after; God was able to find me an apartment. It was that moment that I felt that things were falling into place. It was a sign from God to trust him and allow him to do his work. I now have a roof over my head, I model for Sigal Modeling Agency, release music (beats), and I am now implementing photography into my agenda. Ever since that experience of sleeping in my car, I’ve tried to become more spiritual, and some of the signs that I’ve been having help me believe that God has greater things coming to me. That was a pivotal point for me because no one knows what rock bottom feels like until they are in a situation like that or worse. It has taught me so much, and I become emotional thinking about it because I could have gave up. God didn’t have to do what he’s done. This experience helps me want to continue to push to motivate people as well as become a role model for kids.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
There have been smooth paths but rocky roads as well. As stated before, sleeping in my car was one of the biggest struggles. Another was when a couple months after, my car stopped working, and I had to find another way of transportation to work. A couple weeks later, my car randomly started working again without taking it to a shop. I will and will always believe that it was God’s will. Mental health/depression was another struggle, and I’d like to continue to advocate for those things.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work at Abercrombie and Fitch as a picker. What most people know me for is my energy. I try to create smiles for others or make others feel good. What makes me most proud of myself is how I am growing from the trials I have endured, and I see growth from the actions I commit. I’d like to say what sets me apart from others is how warming I can be.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you, and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I’ve learned that your health is vital. From everything, you eat all the way to exercise. These things are not to prevent you from catching Covid, but it can help the battle. In this battle we need every inch we can get.
