Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Bruner.
Hi Danielle, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey into business began with a deeply personal experience—becoming a mom. After navigating the overwhelming challenges of my first postpartum season, I realized how unprepared and unsupported so many moms feel during that time. As a natural Type-A perfectionist, I found myself craving structure, guidance, and practical tools to help not only myself but other moms avoid the confusion and isolation I faced.
That realization sparked my passion to become a postpartum doula and create A Bridge to Motherhood, a business dedicated to empowering first-time moms through a holistic, step-by-step approach. I combined my own postpartum journey with evidence-based strategies to develop resources that address not just the physical recovery but also the emotional, mental, and spiritual challenges new mothers experience.
Over time, I grew from offering in-person doula support to starting a monthly in-person support group, and online from one-on-one coaching to launching a supportive community where moms can connect, learn, and feel truly seen. My goal has always been to help moms reclaim their identity and confidence, showing them they’re worthy of care and support every step of the way.
Today, I’m proud to help countless moms prepare for and thrive in postpartum — transforming anxiety into empowerment and overwhelm into peace.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey into business has ebbed and flowed, just like motherhood. I began my certification in December of 2022, and I took my first client in May of 2023. Now two years into business, I feel like I’m really finding my footing and providing the support that I truly craved as a first-time mom, especially in community. The biggest struggles have been to keep going, even through some difficult seasons personally. Even when I was caring for everyone else, I made time to dedicate to my business because it is a true passion. I love what I do, and my family encouraged me to keep going even when I wanted to quit.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
A Bridge to Motherhood is a postpartum support business that specializes in helping type-a, perfectionist moms prepare for and navigate the often unspoken challenges of postpartum with confidence and clarity. What sets us apart is our holistic, hands-on approach that goes beyond the basics—addressing not only physical recovery but also the emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of new motherhood.
We provide step-by-step plans, practical tools, conversation starters, and personalized guidance designed especially for moms who thrive on structure and want to be proactive about their postpartum well-being. Unlike traditional postpartum support that often focuses solely on the baby, we put the mother’s whole experience front and center.
I’m most proud of creating a space where moms feel truly seen, valued, and empowered to prioritize their own needs without guilt or overwhelm. Starting my in-person Bump to Baby Support Group in January of 2025 was truly what I always wanted to provide for moms. It is a free group for moms to come hear from experts in the perinatal field, from pregnancy to postpartum, where moms can come and ask their questions in a judgment-free space.
Through launching A Bridge to Motherhood Podcast, A Bridge to Motherhood Community online, and one-on-one coaching, we help moms rediscover their identity in motherhood and build resilience, so they can embrace motherhood with peace and purpose.
To your readers, I want them to know that postpartum doesn’t have to be a time of confusion or loneliness. With the right preparation and support, it can be a season of growth and strength—and that’s exactly what we’re here to help them achieve.
What’s next?
I am looking forward to launching a course to help moms prepare for postpartum DURING pregnancy. We often prepare by setting up the nursery, planning a baby shower, and packing our hospital bags. Some moms take childbirth education classes or breastfeeding classes, but little is done to prepare moms for the huge physical, mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual shift that happens when she becomes a mother. I plan on teaching the course locally in the Cleveland, Ohio area before creating an online course as well.
