Exploring Life & Business with Travis Davis of TD Wellness Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Travis Davis.

Hi Travis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I began playing sports in middle school, there I cultivated a passion for understanding the science behind strength and conditioning.

I was the only “health-nut” in my family and my desire to forge healthy and lasting habits trickled into all parts of my life.

Eventually, I went to college at Shawnee State University where I studied Exercise Science for 2 years. Upon my Junior year in college, I transferred to The Ohio State University where I studied Consumer, Family, & Financial Services and Human Ecology.

This experience expanded my ability to better understand how to relate, communicate, and educate uninformed consumers on the appropriate avenues for purchasing healthy goods.

Once I learned the limitations of strength and conditioning, I set out to offer a Holistic approach for Wellness and began to integrate the many components of wellness: financial, intellectual, mental, physical, & Spiritual.

Upon graduation from OSU in 2017 I realized that my academic achievement and physics achievements were limited, although noble. I am a first-generation college student and I was validated by my credentials. Soon after I began seeking spiritual affairs.

After spending time in meditation, and comparative religion studies, I did the unthinkable- I became a Christian.

3 years after giving my life to Christ I met my wife, Andrea.

Quickly, we decided that starting our own consulting business would be an efficient way to help educate and promote health and wellness to people from many walks of life.

During the first year of the pandemic, we opened up shop and were met with many difficulties. Fortunately, Andrea works for The Ohio State University Medical Center which was in high demand.

As Gyms shut down, we maneuvered to an online platform which was an excellent business decision.

Since 2020 our business has grown by a multiple of 4 each year!

Andrea is a Neuroscience Research Coordinator and Manager for the Wexner Medical Center. So, our dinner conversation about health, disease, and psychology never disappoints!

The TDWC Model has helped create first-time athletes in powerlifting and running, empowered many females through resistance training, transformed the lives of pre-diabetic individuals, and inspired the youth while simultaneously offering corporate wellness programs for other small businesses.

Our missions are our lifestyle, and your lifestyle is our priority.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Very tough at times, as a first-generation college student, nothing comes easy. Adding into the mix dealing with familial drama which surrounds criminal activity, drug addiction, poverty, and poor education it’s a recipe for an uphill battle.

I’ve had much help, and when learning to accept help it comes with a price tag of humility.

Our culture wants to see our victories as altruistic and self-made through perseverance. Self-determinism certainly plays a role, but humility and help play the larger role. Learning to redefine leadership and what it meant as I’ve grown into a successful coach has been no easy path.

The learn new skills it tough, but rewarding, labor.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
