Exploring Life & Business with Jasmin Marshall of Eccentric Creations

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmin Marshall. 

Jasmin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was raised in an environment where everyone had a great work ethic but grew up in a generation that embraced an entrepreneurial mindset. With those factors placing me in a great position, and my love for learning I’ve tried my hands at multiple businesses. I started with catering, as I love to cook. This lasted from 2014 – 2019. I started and operated a sports team for three years. And over time I started and stopped other projects. In 2018, I sat back to figure out why I eventually lost interest in these businesses that I’d started. I realized that I was not passionate about them. It wasn’t the type of work that I was doing that I loved, it was the ability to grow those businesses. It was the creativity that I was allowed to release while working on them. 

I’d done all the strategizing, the business plans, the marketing, the t-shirts, the hats, the networking. That part about it I absolutely love. 

It was at that point that I decided while I love sports, cooking, sales, renovating, party planning, and more… I didn’t want to do those things long-term. So, I started Eccentric Creations. I wrote a business plan, created a social media page, and sent out a mass text to family and friends, and right away it took off. Every day I’m able to recognize where I need to grow, what I’m doing right, who I’m reaching, who I want to reach, and much more. It’s definitely been a journey. A long one. But I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I have an amazing team, a great support system, and years of both knowledge and experience. I’m building meaningful and lasting relationships. I’ve grown both personally and professionally. I absolutely love it. 

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No, definitely not. But I also believe. Nothing good comes easy. I’ve been in a position where I was putting in more than I was making. Buying equipment that didn’t align with my profession as much as I thought it would. It’s affected my work, my relationships with my partner, kids, and friends. 

I’ve lost clientele at some point. Struggled with keeping up with market trends, and social media sometimes. 

And these struggles aren’t consistent, but when they’re present, they’re full force it seems. However, I find solace in knowing I’ve been able to overcome these difficulties. 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Eccentric Creations, I offer many different products or services that are in place to help you develop your brand. I offer a variety of products and services that include building an attractive brand to reach your audience and web design, and I also offer products or services that will help any brand successfully market their products/services to their target audience. 

Just recently I’ve added workshops to my audience. The workshops are great for people who may not have the finances or the patience to delegate certain tasks, but also don’t know where to start. While we do have a workshop that focuses on branding, I’ve also added workshops that focus on the business aspect of things such as maximizing profit, creating business plans, and much more. 

In terms of my brand, I am most proud when I see the growth of my own clients as they open storefronts, sell out, get featured, or even achieve smaller goals that they’d set. 

I love what I do because it goes beyond being creative and completing a project. I can honestly say that each of my clients and I were able to connect on an emotional level which makes it so much easier to genuinely love what I do! 

I want anyone who hasn’t worked with Eccentric Creations to know that I truly do offer a unique experience for each and every customer and each and every project. I put a lot of thought and research into every project which is why I always ask these two questions. What is your brand story and what are your brand goals? 

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is honestly reaching an audience that truly values their business. Reaching people that are comfortable with being uncomfortable. 

These are the type of people I enjoy connecting with because we both have enough in common to make our professional relationship work, which leads to a win-win end result. 

This also helps me enhance their experience with me and vice versa. I benefit from learning market trends, industry-based knowledge, and what the people in specific industries are looking for in terms of experience, collateral, and knowledge. 

So, I would say the connection is what matters the most to me.
