Exploring Life & Business with Coach Mike D.A. of Tru Alchemi Consulting and Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Coach Mike D.A..

Hi Coach Mike, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
These past 49 years of life have been a true roller coaster. From losing my father to medical negligence when I was 10 years old, becoming active in gang activity and drug dealing in my teens, and serving a total of 11 years incarcerated (juvenile and federal) during my 20’s to transforming into a community volunteer, wellness specialist, and business owner.

I am the embodiment of change and transfiguration. My knowledge and experience with behavior modification, wellness, and systems has allowed me to live and thrive in several areas throughout the United States (including Cleveland, the DMV, Atlanta, Southern California, and North Carolina).

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all.

As mentioned before, I experienced the loss of my father at an early age (at the hands of an intoxicated doctor), which was followed by the stealing of my inheritance by greedy attorneys to covering gambling debts.

I grew up in a single-parent household with minimum resources provided by welfare and social security. I shifted from school academics and sports (wrestling) to gang membership and drug trafficking.

At 17, I was sent away as a juvenile offender for felonious assault, then, at 23, I was sent to federal prison for organized criminal activity.

All of the details are featured in my book – “The Book of Kaizen: Based on a Transformational True Story.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Originally formed in 2014, Tru’ Alchemi was started in Cleveland, Ohio by me to offer a diversity of wellness services. The organization is based on decades of knowledge and experience earned during my extensive studies and work in the wellness industry at companies such as Life Time, The YMCA of Greater Cleveland, 24 Hour Fitness, and several others throughout the United States.

After seeing the inadequacies found in a lot of fitness facilities and programs being offered on a national level, I made the decision to gather my own team to serve high-quality, straight-forward guidance for people seeking to improve their quality of life without blind-marketing gimmicks and “malicious money grabs” practiced by current industry leaders.

I’m a self-improvement expert and consultant sharing my insight with those seeking to improve themselves and/or their business ventures. I also seek to partner with: – Rehabilitation Centers – Halfway Houses/Re-Entry Programs – Juvenile and Adult Detention Centers/Jails/Prisons – Shelters/Housing Programs – Community Centers – and other community empowerment organizations to offer tools and guidance for youth and young adults in need of transformation with my “The Journey of Breaking Cycles” book and program.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Just like most industries, artificial intelligence is reshaping how we do business.

For me, I’ve been tech-savvy since the late 1990’s, so I don’t see a threat. I see an opportunity to leverage work output and creativity.

This is also a chance for a lot of people to get back into in-person events and services that A.I. can’t replace but can assist.
