Rising Stars: Meet Dontreis Dismuke

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dontreis Dismuke.

Hi Dontreis, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
A 26-year-old Father, YouTuber, and Photographer from Ohio. My passion for the game has been going strong for 6 years. I’m a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School in Mansfield Ohio and the Ohio Media School. After I got my certification in broadcasting, I had no direction. A major life event that sparked my journey to become a photographer was the tragic loss of my grandfather in 2016. Once he passed away, I knew life was only getting more real and I was only getting older. Since then, I’ve grown into a bigger and better person. My goal is to become notarized and work with big brands. I enjoy Creative Portraits, Fashion, Weddings, and Editorial Photography.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
A smooth road is something we all wish for but unfortunately, life doesn’t work that way. Some struggles I’ve dealt with are depression and anxiety. Depression and anxiety have been a roadblock, but I’ve found a way around them at some point. Another struggle is working a full-time job has been in the way of my passion. All these struggles have been weighing me down but I have found my way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in creative photoshoots, senior photos, editorial photo shoots and etc. I am known for my versatility, detailed portraits, and vibrant colors. I am most proud of my growth. When I first started doing photography, I couldn’t find my style but now I have the vibrant colorful bright style down pack. My work stands out vs others because of the quality of my work, the colors, and the creative shoots I put together.

What do you think about luck?
I’ve had a ton of good luck and some bad luck. Good luck has gotten me further in photography and kept me going to be where I am today. Bad luck has stayed around but it eventually goes away
