Daily Inspiration: Meet Stefanie Lendzian

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stefanie Lendzian.

Hi Stefanie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I have been in the beauty industry for almost 20yrs and saw a need for a more natural product to be used on women, men, and children after a short haircut service. What we were using for over 200 yrs. was scented specially for men, and had harmful chemicals in it. We needed a universal product to blend into everyone’s skin and treat their skin from irritation due to razors and edgers. While developing the Dusting Powder for barbers and stylists, my daughter was going through a horrible time with eczema. All the steroids and ointments would burn her skin, irritate the surround skin and leave a sticky residue behind that would seep through her clothes. I researched plant-based ingredients that would treat inflammation, redness, and irritation while soothing her eczema. I created a powder that worked, no itching or redness to the skin, and her eczema clears up! This was all occurring right when we shut down for the pandemic. I couldn’t market to barbers and stylists who were not working, so I thought maybe others were struggling with their skin and open to using a powder instead of a cream or ointment. Slowly over the course of 2020 word of mouth spread and the response was heartwarming. I went on to launch our Refreshing Dry shampoo and I saw a need from myself and clients who struggled to find one that blended into the root without leaving a heavy residue behind causing you to have to wash your hair. I listen to what my clients and others are looking for along with my own personal struggles, this is how I keep expanding the brand. Even a soothing powder for pets who obsessive lick and scratch due to sensitive skin and anxiety. I have been so fortunate to have worked with Score and Magnet in Cleveland who have helped me get to where I am along with the best clients helping me make connections as well!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have hit a lot of bumps in the road! I have redesigned my website more than I can count, we have experienced shortages, wrong branding materials for events you name it. As an entrepreneur, you need to be open to pivoting because something will always come up. I am very open to changing course or redirecting if something isn’t working.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a hairstylist being able to help my clients look and feel their best has been the most fulfilling part of my career. To see the immediate glow, they get from getting their hair done and knowing you have helped them in some way, I know I am doing what I was meant to do. Creating my brand is the same as a mom I knew I needed to find a solution for my daughter and I was not going to stop until I did. Sharing our experience has helped so many struggling with their skin and to be able to change the quality of someone’s life is a blessing.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
When I was little, I was always playing with my mom’s hair. I would put a thousand clips in her hair and she wouldn’t mind at all. Since I can remember my sister and I would go with my mom to Ladies and Gentlemen she would be getting her hair done or her nails and we would always get braids in our hair. I knew I wanted to work there after high school and went to Brown Aveda Institute for cosmetology and worked at Ladies and Gentlemen for 19YRS.
