Conversations with JBC

Today we’d like to introduce you to JJBC.

Hi JBC, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I grew a low for music very young. My parents would always play The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Hall, and Oates, and others around the house, and that style of music always resonated with me. I then found Kanye West, Mac Miller, and soul music later in High School and I couldn’t get away from it. I was so fascinated with it that I had to find a way to create music to make people feel the way I felt. And that’s how I began producing.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Starting my journey through college was challenging. I didn’t have the most time. I was focused on class and internships and other activities over music. I graduated in December of 2021 and have been able to really give music a try and it’s been going better than ever.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a Music Producer. I specialize in sampling that where most of my productions come from. I also specialize in content creation and have been able to steadily grow on social media through content. I think my consistency and work ethic set me apart. I see getting to where I want to be as another challenge I need to complete or a game I need to win.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The best lesson I’ve learned is to focus on the day-to-day and not the macro goals. Forget the goals centered around fame or massive amounts of money and focus on getting better each day. If you do one single thing today that makes you better than yesterday, that’s progress. This will also make you feel like you’re making more progress, and those macro goals become much closer.
