Hi, Paulette. It’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
After a layoff from the corporate world, I decided to take a different career path and become a massage therapist. The twists and turns of life led me to Holistic Lakewood, which I’ve owned since 2014. My staff and I have grown the business, and we are proud of the great work we do!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
All small businesses have bumps along the way. As a sole proprietor, my favorite phrase is “it’s always something.” And of course the pandemic was a challenging time. Being licensed by the medical board, we were required to close for months and then follow a long list of rules and protocols to reopen. But overall, it’s been a fun, crazy, interesting ride.
As you know, we’re big fans of Holistic Lakewood. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Here’s our mission statement, for starters:
Every day, we, the staff at Holistic Lakewood, make it our mission to provide our clients with high-quality service at reasonable prices, and are dedicated to doing so in an atmosphere that is focused on kindness, comfort, inclusivity, and positive and holistic living. We hope you’ll come in and get to know us. We want to get to know you!
We are licensed massage therapists, offering a variety of massage, bodywork and energy work services and have training in trauma-informed care. We pride ourselves on being very good at what we do, although we are all very different in our styles. We also pride ourselves on being open to ALL in the community. As our mission statement says, we value inclusivity!
