Hi Prince and Bardi, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Prince and Bardi’s story goes back more than twenty years, long before the podcast was ever an idea. As teenagers, we spent countless hours debating sports, playing endless games of NBA 2K and Madden, and sharpening our love for competition and conversation. Sports were the thread that tied our friendship together, and those debates became the spark for something bigger.
Life took us on different but complementary paths. Prince went on to play Division I basketball, gaining firsthand experience and perspective as an athlete competing at the highest level. Meanwhile, Bardi honed his craft in the world of sports media, working with several organizations and developing a sharp eye for analysis, storytelling, and journalism. Both of us earned degrees in Mass Communication with a focus in Journalism, giving us the foundation to merge passion with professionalism.
In 2020, we decided to bring it all together and launch the Prince and Bardi Podcast. What started as two best friends turning their lifelong debates into a show has grown into a thriving platform that now reaches over 100,000 monthly impressions across Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels. Our audience is highly engaged, primarily 18 to 35 year olds who are deeply invested in fantasy sports, player props, and weekly matchups, and they keep pushing us to deliver content with consistency and authenticity.
The balance between us is what makes the show work. Prince brings the raw, passionate voice of a former athlete, while Bardi delivers seasoned analysis shaped by years inside the sports industry. Together, we have created something that entertains, informs, and connects with the modern sports fan. What began with two friends arguing over games and controllers has grown into a podcast with national reach and real influence. And in our eyes, this is still just the beginning.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road. When we first started in 2020, there were not as many sports podcasts; however, the space has since expanded significantly. Now it feels like every former athlete or passionate fan has a show, which can be discouraging at times because it is easy to wonder if your voice will get lost in the crowd.
Instead of letting that discourage us, we chose to see it as an opportunity. The crowded landscape has pushed us to sharpen our swords by staying creative, consistent, and intentional with our content. It has forced us to double down on what makes us different: being real, raw, and authentic. That is the energy our fans have connected with since day one, and it is why they continue to ride with us week after week.
The biggest lesson we have learned is that authenticity cuts through the noise. In a saturated media space, you do not have to be the loudest; you just have to be the most genuine. That mindset has kept us motivated, sharpened our craft, and helped us build a loyal community that grows alongside us.
