Check Out David Slagle Jr’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Slagle Jr.

Hi David, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born & raised in Elyria , Ohio . I was born with a cleft lip and palate. I had six surgeries at Cleveland’s Rainbow Babies hospital to correct everything. Seven years of speech therapy , Started making music as a teenager. In my early 20s I taught myself graphic design , website design and general social media marketing in hopes it would help me succeed as a recording artist . Now at 31 it’s turned into so much more than that . I’ve had successful business ventures and I’m building a brand off of what I’ve taught and continue teaching myself .

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not a smooth road lol , some days an uphill battle haha . Learning self development and the experiences that come with finding yourself can be a struggle . It’s hard to step outside of your self and thought process to identify the issue and how to correct it to grow or fix whatever issue you’re having from it , I’m the type of person I’m always trying to better myself and grow as a person .

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I go by “Slagle” as a full time hip hop recording artist . I’ve been featured on iheart radio a decent amount of times , I just recorded a song with Snoop Dogg . Recently hit 14 million views on my YouTube channel . I also own & operate a digital marketing / consulting company called Over Here It’s Original marketing LLC aka OHIO Marketing . I’m really most proud of building a brand off of me and my personal image . I’m doing what I want in life . Sometimes things are up sometimes they’re down but I’m living a life that feels free and it’s only getting better . I take a lot of pride in what I do and I never do it for the pay check . I put my whole heart into anything I take on . My work ethic and the way my mind strategizes I think is what sets me apart .

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Don’t give up and fail as much as possible . Embrace it . In every failure you’ll find what you need to fix or work on in order to succeed in the future . Nothing great happens over night . Stay consistent and pure in everything you do ,

There’s nothing I really wish I knew . I knew it was going to be hard . I knew I wasn’t taking a normal route and it was going to come with a lot of push back . I accepted the reality I may lose everything for this and I just went for it.
