Check Out Charles Pratt’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charles Pratt.

Hi Charles, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started off in music at the age of ten — just wanting to be like my favorite artists at the time. But I actually developed a passion for it. From there I went on to release multiple mixtapes and projects before my career changed to being a recording engineer and opening Breakthrough Sounds Recording Studio in Valley View, Ohio. This was never my initial desire, but I do believe God changed my path from being focused on myself to being able to help others with the knowledge I had amassed and I’m so thankful for it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This road has had its ups and downs. During my career as an artist, there was always the pressure of acting as the entire record while just being one person. Handling bookings, PR, marketing, and management — all while still needing to create. That was a challenge but it was pretty fun. With owning a studio, I find there are also challenges in the same scope, having to handle all aspects of the business while also still focusing on clients. But, once you find the balance of scheduling and time management, things begin to get smoother.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am the owner and head engineer of Breakthrough Sounds Recording Studio and Media Company in Valley View, Ohio. We specialize in recording all styles of music, as well as commercial production, photography, video services, and event space. We try to offer our local artist community as much access as possible, seeing how there is so few good resources available. We help to bridge the gap of a high-quality and premium experience with affordability.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
People can find us online at our website where you can book an appointment or a tour to see the facility. All of our engineers are accessible on Instagram also. We get a lot of artists reaching out to work with us through our DM’s and social media messages. So, this is another way you can contact us, too! I know a lot of people don’t like getting DMs about work, but we’re not snobby. We welcome people to reach out to us in whichever way works great for them.
