Rising Stars: Meet Evie Schaffer of Ohio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Evie Schaffer.

Hi Evie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have always been inlove with music, and the way it connects the listener.
I picked up guitar in the summer of 2023, and within 3 months I started playing my own gigs. Throughout these 3 years, ive built a band, played New York City, and traveled all over the Midwest and East Coast.
I currently do all my own marketing, booking events, and business side of music while also being the preformer.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There’s always ups and downs!
For me personally, I’ve been fortunate enough to have such a stable support system and I am beyond blessed to have them on my team.
However there will always be a show here and there that you don’t feel you did your best on, and you start to second guess your performance, but with that, it is always in the back of my head that those people are there in that venue for a reason, you are in this profession for a reason, and that reason is you.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Being a young up-coming country musician in the Midwest.
I think what sets me apart from others currently is the Rhinestone boots and guitar I bring to every show.
I love to stand out. I love to show other girls it’s okay to not fit in. Wear what you want and feel good doing it.
Thats the biggest confidence boost for me on stage is getting to wear my rhinestone outfits and go play guitar!

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Trial and Error!
Like I said, doing my own marketing and being my own booking agent is a lot for someone in their early twenties still figuring out the ropes in the music industry. But with that, just keep pushing. There will never be a one set in stone answer to networking, you have to find what fits best for you, but be ready for change!
