Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel DesRochers.
Hi Rachel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My first company was called Grateful Grahams – an artisinal cookie company. It was started in 2010 in my home kitchen with my 5 1/2 month daughter, Rosalee strapped to my back. We were a gratitude company that makes a cookie, not a cookie company that talks about gratitude. Grateful Grahams is no longer a business, but the mission of spreading gratitude has remained in every company I have built.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not! Has anyone said is has been? I have dealt with so much along the way – from investors stealing from me to my mother’s death to my divorce from my husband.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’ve founded multiple companies and initiatives since Grateful Grahams – but the one I am most proud of it Power to Pursue. Power to Pursue has perhaps been in the works my whole life. This idea is to gather women, connect us, bridging the gap and supporting one another.
Power to Pursue is a women’s empowerment summit. We are building a diverse and inclusive community of women creators, dreamers and doers. Highlighting the work happening inside corporations in intrapreneurship, the entrepreneurs who are starting businesses in our neighborhoods. Open to any woman seeking community.
We also have a podcast that delves further into this while normalizing normal things – the Power to Pursue Podcast.
What does success mean to you?
Success to me is living your highest purpose, helping others to do so as well, and building community around it.
