Hello, I’m Adam Elliott, a Professional DJ since 1998, with an extensive and diverse career that has enriched my skills and broadened my horizons. My journey through music has been marked by a series of noteworthy experiences that have helped me become the DJ I am today.
Throughout the years, I’ve held coveted residencies in prominent bars and clubs across Columbus, Ohio, where I meticulously honed my DJ skills. Venues like Dick’s Last Resort, Park St. Patio, The Varsity Club, and Park St. Cantina are just a few of the stages where I’ve honed my craft.
My portfolio includes prestigious performances, such as entertaining The Ohio State Alumni Association at The Final Four and Orange Bowl. I’ve also had the honor of opening for renowned artists like The Verve Pipe, Everclear, SWV, Maroon 5, and many more.
I’ve collaborated with Matt Sexton Enterprises to set the stage on fire during Columbus Blue Jackets home games, as well as away games at local venues. Currently, I’m proud to be the soundtrack to The Ohio State Men’s Gymnastics Team’s home competitions.
My love for music is all-encompassing, but my heart truly beats for “open format” DJing, where I have the creative freedom to play whatever the moment calls for. Within the DJ community, I’m recognized for my exceptional playlist planning. My peers often commend my ability to curate the perfect selection, ensuring the right music at the right time, with a unique touch.
On a personal note, I have two feline companions, Maverick and Goose, who add a touch of fun and quirkiness to my life. I believe that other vendors would describe me as hardworking, dedicated to my craft, and passionate about making your event a resounding success. Ensuring everything goes according to plan is my forte, so you’re left with nothing but joyful memories.
My journey as a DJ has taken me around the world as a member of the ‘Traveling DJ’s.’ From enchanting Alaska to historic Venice, vibrant Rome to sunny Barcelona, and even crossing the Atlantic to spend holidays in the Caribbean, these global adventures have deepened my appreciation for both music and the people I have had the privilege to entertain. Currently, I am under contact with Crystal Cruises, and love hosting their luxury client base!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course not, nothing in life is smooth. I’ve lost both my parents, had financial hardships and changed careers a few times — but have done my best to persevere and grow. The biggest challenge one faces in our industry is staying relevant. New DJ’s, new music companies and new ways to entertain pop up daily, so asserting your value and distinguishing yourself from your competitors is an ongoing challenge.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
AI could be a game changer, but it’s hard to forecast how exactly it will affect DJ’s just yet. We’re also seeing a decline in engagements. Less people are getting married. As with anything there are predictors, but predicting why this is happening is difficult. The cruise industry is growing however, and my cruise line in particular is adding 2 ships – and new ships create new opportunities for DJ’s to showcase their skills. Corporate events are ramping up again post COVID, so we’re doing our best to cross over as much as possible to provide more than just DJ work. – hosting, crafting custom playlists and Emcee work are additional things we as DJ’s can do to expand our skill set and gain value with potential clients.
