Today we’d like to introduce you to Mayor Millz.  

Hi Mayor, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
My journey started very early. I was in the 8th grade when I hosted my first event for my middle school, which was an all-white party. I was so excited to host my first event I didn’t even sleep the night before lol. Although I’m considered an entrepreneur, I’ve always carried myself as much more. I believe part of my purpose is to empower people. I love my community. The way my business is set up, I only win if those I’m working with win. That’s how I got the name The Mayor. I do multiple things. Marketing, events, and I’m the only person in Columbus that makes custom Grillz. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Lol far from smooth! The biggest struggle is confidence and confirmation. Without confidence, you won’t put out your best work. As people, I feel we always are looking for that one sign to let us know we are doing the right thing but what about in the meantime? Before we get that ahh ha! Moment. I started using the things around me as a sign of confirmation. Something simple as waking up. I’ve lost a lot of good people along the way, and I’m still here. 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I help creatives/ entrepreneurs with their marketing through my radio brand New Flava Radio. We help them with everything from content creation, commercials, photo shoots, etc. I’m most proud of the quality of the clients I work with. Very talented individuals. I appreciate every last one of them! I also make custom Grillz so a lot of artists and fashion influencers work with me also. 

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
As far as finding a mentor, let it come naturally. Depending on where you’re at in your journey, you might have more than one. I’ve had a few. When it comes to networking, even if the person I’m talking to doesn’t have a need for my services, I always keep my friends in mind.
